In a brilliant chess like move President Trump on the day of his inauguration files for the 2020 elections! Not only does this move make him the first president to file so early for his re-election, but it stifles his non-profit enemies, as it puts their IRS filing status at risk!
Why is this important and why is Twitter in an uproar about it?
A 501c3 charitable/tax exempt organization has to abide by certain laws to maintain that exemption. For instance churches cannot be ‘politically‘ active, which means they cannot endorse or lobby for political candidates. as that would be a breech of their non-profit status.
Why is this important? It directly effects one of his strongest opponents, George Soros!
“The Open Society Foundations is bigger than you think. In fact, it may be the largest philanthropic organization ever built, with branches in 37 countries. While the Gates Foundation spends more money, OSF has a larger footprint worldwide thanks to its many local offices, including throughout Africa. OSF’s budget will be around $930 million this year—which is substantially more than Ford’s total grantmaking.”
One might ask, why did the 501c3’s that campaigned against President Trump not get in trouble and lose their status? That answer to that is simple, look to the ones that were tasked with enforcing the tax-code! The Obama administration came under fire for actually going after ‘Tea Party‘ groups and actively denying their rightful status!
If one does not realize that this was the reason for his filing, all they simply have to do it look at his current involvement in changing tax-regulation!
Tax-exempt organizations better take note, as while he is in office and currently a candidate for the 2020 office any campaigning against President Trump may well be met with the removal of their tax-exempt status!
“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.” ~Donald J. Trump
